The part was tested by measuring the absorbance and fluorescence of transformed bacteria on a Tecan plate reader after incubating the bacteria with varying concentrations of freshly prepared GSSH (a RSS). Fluorescence was measured at 475 nm for excitation and 545 nm emission. No significant difference in fluorescence was observed between that bacteria that had been incubated with GSSH and the control. Due to the discovery that GSSH does likely not cross the cell membrane, and not enough time to commence in vitro experiments, the experiments were promtly ended.
